ibuyeco, a new eco-friendly car insurance scheme that will offset 100% of customers’ CO2 emissions for the duration of their policy and help make a contribution towards tackling global climate change.

ibuyeco is one of the first car insurance products to help customers’ offset 100% of car emissions from their driving. Consumers choosing the online eco-friendly car insurance scheme will no longer have to pay an additional premium to offset their car?s CO2 emissions for the duration of their insurance policy. The offset fee will now be funded by the business at no extra cost to the consumer.

Payments are calculated based on the type of vehicle and the estimated mileage details provided by customers. Emissions are calculated using guidelines from several key groups and bodies, including DEFRA (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs); whose guidelines are used by other government departments when appraising their policies.

Making your car journey carbon neutral by offsetting the emissions your vehicle produces helps balance the impact your driving is having on the environment. CO2 = Carbon Dioxide - a major greenhouse gas - naturally present in the atmosphere at low levels, but on the increase due mainly to the use of fossil fuels. Cars are one of the main producers of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide (CO2) contributing to climate change. The average family car can produce over 2 tonnes per year.

What is carbon offsetting? Together with ibuyeco partners, they made it easy for you to balance the annual emissions your vehicle produces by investing money to projects which save the equivalent amount elsewhere.

Have you ever ben to China? I just bopped over to Shanghai and what I saw there just about flipped my lid. I love American cars, but what they’ve got buzzing around Shanghai city streets these days is light years ahead of what our designers at Ford and GM are occupying their time with. I think someone needs to charter a group flight and send our US guys over there for a look at what’s going on ;otherwise, I’m afraid us Americans are going to miss the boat.

One awesome car I saw over there is the Xing Goa “Olympic”. Even though the Games are set for Beijing next year, you can spot Olympic fever all over Shanghai. I guess making an “Olympic” car is just a natural outpouring of that national enthusiasm.

My Chinese friend Yao took me for a spin in his “Olympic” which just knocked my socks off. The inside of that car looked more like an F-15 than a family sedan, but it’s the same car he uses to pick up his wife and kids every day after work. In China they really have an enthusiasm for the family as well; not like here, where sometimes people call you uncool for wanting to have a wife and kids at home.

Powered by a combination of both 600bhp+ twin-turbo V8 and 100kW electric motor, this crazy 4WD beast will be up against the usual GT3 RSRs and BMW GTRs in a bid for glory.
The electrics were clearly working tonight as HH drove to the barrier in complete silence. It’s not clear how the motors will work in the race, but judging on tonights performance they’ll be perfect for pitlane use. Especially when trying to run over a rival team’s pit crew. Luso Motors is now presenting the LM23 mid-engined car, the car of which design is inspired from Lotus 23b. However, the LM23 is the more track racing than its looks.

The latest LM23 features the space frame chassis built of steel tubing, with twice skin aluminium alloy sheets and a outer skin is built of carbon fibre and fiberglass elements.

LM23 is powered by the 1L Honda CBR1000 engine with six-gearbox making about 150hp.
