Hyundai Is Busy With Production | | Hyundai has been busy, constantly introducing new products. The latest might be the most exciting so far. The Genesis Coupe stirred up lots of attention at the Los Angeles Auto Show last year, although it was still in a conceptual form. The car has lost little in translation with production. The Genesis Coupe has an aggressive styling, which was emulated after a predatory animal. You can really see this in the headlights that are angled and the twisting lines that are below the beltline. The goal for the new coupe was to design a performance vehicle that?s design would catch the attention of automotive enthusiasts. The Genesis Coupe doesn?t just look the part. It is going to be available with an engine that is 3.8-liter DOHC V6 and will produce 306 horsepower. It will also be available in a 212-horsepower 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine. The interior of the Genesis Coupe stays true to the performance look of the exterior. However, the seats are comfortable and supportive and have side bolsters. There is a push button starter and big speedometer. Consumers should be able to purchase the 2010 model of the Genesis Coupe, along with new car warranties, early in the year 2009. Pricing has not been announced, but it will likely have a value price like the rest of the Hyundai line.

GM Has Had To Discontinue Its Hot Windshield Fluid System | | After recalling 944,000 vehicles, GM has had to discontinue its HotShot windshield washer system, which was responsible for an electrical short. So far, the malfunction has caused 34 auto warranty claims and three fires as a result of a short in the circuit board, which caused the control-circuit ground wire to overheat. GM claims that the system?s supplier, Microheat, is responsible for the dangerous glitch. GM feels that Microheat should pay the $20 million to $25 million that has been estimated for the cost of the recall. However, the supplier claims that it is still owed by GM for tooling and parts. Microheat is already suffering financial troubles, which means the recall could cause Microheat to go out of business, even though its innovative system is great for getting rid of insect remains in warm months and ice in cold months. GM is going to fix this problem at dealerships for free before November 1st. Vehicles that were involved in the recall are the Cadillac DTS and Escalade; the Buick Lucerne and Enclave; the GMC Yukon, Sierra and Acadia; the Hummer H2; the Saturn Outlook; and the Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado, Suburban and Tahoe.

A Strict Auto Warranty For The Nissan GT-R | | Over the last week there has been a story circulating on the Internet about the owner of a 2009 Nissan GT-R who couldn?t get his auto warranty to cover his blown transmission. What was the problem? He claims he turned off the stability control in order to use the vehicle?s launch control feature. Making that mistake cost him about $20,000 in auto repairs. Nissan is well aware of the story on the Internet, and it says that utilizing the launch control feature or turning the VDC off by themselves wouldn?t void the auto warranty. However, Nissan claims that when the two features are abused and lead to damage, the auto warranty becomes void. The auto warranty includes normal stipulations about racing, modifications, as well as other changes that void auto warranties. Nissan couldn?t calculate how car owners could use the vehicle, meaning how often it could be driven on a track or other difficult uses. Other GT-R drivers have complained about the car?s transmission, but most of them attacked the author of the original story for not being a good driver. The result of this story is clear for owners of GT-R owners: You shouldn?t drive your GT-R too hard if you don?t want to be the one to pay for it.

Making sense of the green car phenomenon | | Over the past few years the impact we have on our planet with regards to emissions has become a major issue, many of us are now familiar with the idea of hybrid cars and carbon foot prints. A lot of pressure from the government and ecological groups alike has sparked much of the public?s interest and by now many of us will have no doubt begun some form of ?green? activities whether it?s recycling or driving a fuel efficient car (if only to reduce the amount spent on petrol or diesel!). In an attempt to bring our emissions down and our mileage up there are many different and strange techniques, with people having converted their cars to accept alternative fuels such as bio diesel manufactured by reusing cooking oil or grease. Many of the typical and less outlandish methods include hybrid engines that effectively have the typical petrol engine but also have an electric engine that kicks in when driving at low speeds, perfect for those who partake in a lot of inner city driving. The biggest buzz in hybrid car news at the moment is that there are many manufacturers developing a vehicle which refuels by plugging it in to the wall supply much like you?d recharge a cell phone. One such vehicle using this technology is the GM Volt; it charges from the wall outlet and can run for 40 miles before turning on an onboard gasoline powered generator which keeps the battery going. At no point is the car powered by conventional fuel; this varies from the hybrid vehicles on the road at the moment which use gasoline engines to accelerate and whilst driving at faster speeds.. It is hoped that driving more efficient vehicles which do not have the volatile and polluting fuel of petrol will help reduce our car insurance quotes too. Many insurers are luring the new hybrid driving motorists with discounts for their greener choice of vehicle. With many of us becoming more conscious of our effect on the environment it is obvious that these vehicles will become more mainstream and popular as time goes by.
