This is just another instance that demonstrates why truth is not something that depends on majority opinion. Truth is not about what the majority of people think something is. Truth is what IS. If most people thought baseball was invented in Japan it would still be true that it was invented in upstate New York So Wikipedia launches with an unsound initial premise and frequently veers to the South (as regards logic) from there as happens in their discussion of Hydrogen gas for automobile engine fuel. There is a great comedy bit on this irrationality of the Wikipedia approach to truth which you can view HERE So, what is wrong with what Wikipedia says? Because there are thousands of vehicles on the road right now that are using Hydrogen as fossil fuel substitute or using it in combination with gasoline to maximize their fuel economy by as much as 25-50% or more! An obvious solution that would help considerably towards solving any oil shortage would be for the vehicle manufacturers and oil companies to cease and desist their illegal hacking of computers in automobiles made since 1995 so as to allow them to perform at the MPG they are otherwise capable of performing at! Vehicles are manufactured since the mid 1990s with a built in computer system. These computers are factually pre-hacked against getting the gas mileage that they would otherwise be able to attain! If the automotive and oil companies wanted people to get a bigger bang for their buck at the service station they would reset their computers!! This is a highly criminal action which violates contracts that these industries have with the EPA and other government agencies with regards to fair business practices.And this is one that Big Oil REALLY doesn't want you to know about. The know how to run vehicless with water-based engines has existed for over ninety years! In the last couple of years it has been made available to the average citizen via Water4Gas and their open source developments in the area which has enabled many others to contribute to advancements. So Chevron is raking in billions every year in profit, they let go of a few hundred million to "research" alternative energy sources, meanwhile, they persist in collusion with vehicle manufacturers to install artificial limits on MPG and they ignore the fact that Brown's Gas, Hydrogen from Water, Hydrogen On Demand and so forth are being used in the car engines of thousands of drivers today AND they foster the image that they are attempting to find alternative technologies as a method in which to obfuscate and a diversion so that folks don't find out that the technology already exists!!! If you are unindoctrinated, WATER4GAS is providing information for a fee which individuals can use at home to build a small device which infuses hydrogen into the gas/air mixture that their car runs on. What this does is make smaller particles out of the particles that the system burns as fuel. Therefore the engine is able to use considerably more of it. But that would not be the last thing we are going to hear about the 2009 Subaru Forester. See, a month after the debut of the vehicle, the car maker has already announced that the 2009 Subaru Forester would be available in the market come this April.How much would be the price tag state? That would be a question that most interested folks would be asking. According to Subaru, they would be sending out the vehicle with a $19,995 tag price as its starting price and that amount is $1,200 cheaper than the previous Subaru Forester model.Subaru's vice president for sales, Tim Colbeck, shared, "For 11 years, the Subaru Forester has been an icon of functionality, dependability and durability. The 2009 Forester now adds greater interior room, improved comfort and more amenities than before, yet with a starting price that is significantly lower than the outgoing model."Producing power for the 2009 Subaru Forester are two engines which have been available. One is a 2.5 liter naturally aspirated unit while another is a 2.5 liter turbo engine. The former is mated to either a manual or an automatic transmission while the former is matched only to an automatic. Available in three trim levels the X, the 2.5x Premium Package, and the 2.5X L. L. Bean, the natural aspirated model would give consumers more choices. However, the turbocharged unit would not be left behind for it is available in the X trim and the Forester 2.5XT Limited.If you are going to choose a 2009 Subaru Forester that is equipped with a 2.5X Premium Package, you would find its tag coming with a price of $22,495 and for that amount you get a power moonroof, a rear seat center tray, reclining seat backs for the rear, roof rails, audio controls on the streering wheel, and alloy wheels measuring 17 inches.For the 2.5X L. L. Bean version, you would have to shell out $25,995 for this one. For that amount, you get upholster that is trimmed in leather. The vehicle also has an automatic climate control system, fog lights, an all weather package, L.L. Bean floor mats and cargo trays, and an AM/FM stereo with CD changer. Europe will see the rise of a new automobile empire. The much-anticipated conglomeration will be composed of Porsche, Volkswagen, and Scania.
Porsche Automobil Holding SE was given the green light by its board Monday to acquire majority stake in Volkswagen AG which owns Audi, Skoda, Seat, Lamborghini, Bentley and Bugatti brands. VW, meanwhile, said it will take a controlling interest in Scania, a Swedish truckmaker. This also means Porsche is in a position to absorb Scania with MAN AG, a German truckmaker which Volkswagen holds 29.9 percent, reported the Associated Press.
VW Chief Executive Martin Winterkorn said Volkswagen will focus on synergies with Scania AB, mainly in purchasing raw materials such as steel as well as research and development and electronic components.
Analysts in the industry said the deals are aimed at accumulating more wealth. The deals also strengthen the control held by the grandson of Porsche founder - Ferdinand Piech. He is the chairman of Volkswagen and MAN supervisory boards.
The maker of Porsche parts has been gradually increasing its stake in Volkswagen for more than a year and won a significant victory in 2007 when the European Union's highest court promulgated a decision that the German government had to remove a cap on voting rights at VW.
"Volkswagen has announced that they're taking a majority share of Scania. Next they could upgrade their stake in MAN to a majority stake, merge the two companies into a Volkswagen Commercial AG and sell that to Porsche SE. Then they could hand back to Porsche ... or to their stock owners, a special dividend from the revenues of that sale," said Christoph Stuermer, an auto analyst with Global Insight.
In a statement, Porsche said the reviews by the regulatory authorities are expected to take several months. And when requisite clearances are finally acquired, Porsche can take majority stakes in Volkswagen. The statement added that Porsche does not intend to merge the two companies.
"Our aim is to create one of the strongest and most innovative automobile alliances in the world, which is able to measure up to the increased international competition," said Porsche Chief Executive Wendelin Wiedeking.
Were a tie-up happen, VW and Scania would effortlessly upstage giant rivals such as Volvo AB and Daimler AG, Europeâ??s largest truckmaker.
"It shows the trust that the people in Porsche AG have in Volkswagen," Winterkorn noted at the Geneva Motor Show. "It means a lot of interesting things in the future.â?�

The engineers at Volvo are no strangers to cutting edge safety systems. In 2006 the Volvo S80 could be outfitted with Collision Warning and Brake Support alerts. The systems sent visible and audible cues to the driver when the gap between his car and the one ahead tightened up too rapidly. In addition to the warnings, the brakes were prepped for use, but the driver's foot still had to do the work. Now, the Volvo XC60 crossover, set to go on sale in Europe this summer and coming to the United States in 2009, will be outfitted with City Safety, technology that will not only monitor the gap between cars and prep the brakes, but if necessary, do the braking itself.Using an optical radar system built in to the windshield at the same level as the rear view mirror, City Safety monitors ahead of the car to a distance of approximately 20 feet (six meters). Intended for low-speed, bumper-to-bumper driving at rates of under 20 mph, the radar will pre-charge the brakes when the gap begins to get tight so the driver can respond more effectively. If, however, a collision is imminent, City Safety uses a hydraulic pump to activate the brakes on its own.The unit's algorithm runs fifty calculations per second, constantly determining the necessary braking speed to prevent a collision, factoring in both the car's speed and the distance to the car ahead of its position in the lane. When the calculated force needed to brake exceeds a pre-determined level and the driver has not physically responded by tapping the brakes, City Safety concludes that a collision is imminent and intervenes. The system will work during the day and at night, but can be limited by weather conditions including fog, mist, heavy rain, or snow. Sensors in the windshield will alert the driver if dirt has built-up to a level that will compromise the unit's ability to scan the road ahead.Statistics compiled by Volvo indicate that more than 75% of reported collisions actually occur when the vehicles involves are moving at speeds of less than 20 mph. The company's engineers optimistically predict that the City Safety system has the potential to reduce such low-speed collisions by as much as 50%. Although the units will be standard on the XC60 crossover, Volvo has not announced a decision on inclusion with other models or if City Safety will be offered as a standard feature or an available option when it does proliferate to those models.The XC60, which will be built at the company's assembly facility in Ghent, Belgium, is being described by Volvo as the safest car it has ever built. The City Safety system joins a growing body of collision detection and prevention units being incorporated into 21st century vehicles, most geared toward blind spot monitoring and enhancing the driver's view and perception of the space around the car. Volvo's approach should prove particularly useful in crowded urban settings where commuters are subject to both tight driving conditions and the potential for road rage in other drivers.
